Mary Steubing Esq.
Mary’s intellectual property law practice includes the preparation and prosecution of United States and foreign patent applications, infringement and validity studies, technology license agreements, and strategic intellectual property strategy counseling for companies ranging from Fortune 500 to start-up companies.
Mary received her B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1986. She then worked as a computer hardware design engineer on the design of computer systems at Digital Equipment Corporation. She was registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 1991. She then worked as a Patent Agent counseling computer systems, storage, and networking engineering groups at Digital while obtaining her law degree. Mary graduated Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in 1995, and is registered to practice law in Massachusetts.
Mary left Digital to become Patent Counsel at Bay Networks Inc. in 1997. After acquisition of Bay Networks by Nortel Networks Inc., she became Counsel to the Office of the CTO at Nortel Networks Inc. Experience included strategic patent portfolio development, strategic patent license counseling, and intellectual property counseling regarding technology transfers and mergers / acquisitions.
Mary entered private practice in 2001. Mary’s practice covers a range of technologies, including computer systems, network and communications systems, and storage systems. Mary’s combination of technical and intellectual property expertise serves clients large and small alike.
